The first Spanish Serena oranges arrived at the British Nationwide Produce in the week before Christmas and there are still arrivals planned after New Year.
“The growing conditions in Spain have been good. We have tasty, safe and healthy fruit for our customers, ” says David Serena of Serena Oranges. “Our location in the best growing area in Spain allows us to offer a fresh and tasty product.”
Nationwide Produce has recently become the exclusive UK partner for the Serena oranges. “In 2022/2023, revenue is balanced with demand and we will be able to supply our customers without any problems.”
The Serena oranges go to customers in wholesale and foodservice
“The Serena brand, founded in 1967, is recognized as a label for quality oranges in decent packaging. We are proud to partner with another family business, which has also been on the counter for many years, and to be able to carry such a premium brand exclusively in the UK,” says Rebecca Fox of Nationwide Produce.
“We always sell more oranges around Christmas, because they would represent a valuable gift from Santa Claus. This is the first real year-end without corona in two years, so we are seeing a slight increase in sales, but the frost and the strikes in December did send the trade a little confused.”
“With the new year, there is always attention for healthy eating in “Veganuary”, which means that the focus is again on vegetables and fruits. And with the terrible cold raging across the UK, Serena oranges may be able to help with their high levels of vitamin C and antioxidants. In addition, they are sweet and juicy. In other words, an article not to be missed.”
Nationwide Produce continues to import Serena oranges every week in January.
