Leeds University and Asda announce Data Partnership

Asda and the Leeds University have joined forces to gain more insight into pressing societal challenges such as nutrition, environmental and health issues through a strategic data partnership.

The two institutions have signed an agreement whereby the Leeds-based retailer and the University’s Leeds Institute for Data Analytics (Lida) will work together on a series of research projects. As part of the official partnership, Lida data scientists will work with Asda to gain more insight into customer habits and preferences in order to make decisions about, for example, future store locations and improve the efficiency of food supply chains.
