Cyclist rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by car

A busy road in Leeds was forced to shut both directions after a cyclist was hit by a vehicle. Kirkstall Road was closed following the incident this morning. The ambulance service were called at 8.04am.

The cyclist has been taken to hospital with serious injuries, a spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police has confirmed.

Inrix, our travel management system states the the road has now reopened and there is queuing traffic in the area.

They said: “A65 Kirkstall Road in both directions closed, queueing traffic due to accident, a cyclist involved from Recote Lane to Woodside View. All lanes have been re-opened.”
