Platinum anniversary of Queen Elizabeth rule coin minted

In honour of her 70 years on the throne, a commemorative coin will appear next year for the British Queen Elizabeth, The Royal British Mint has announced Sunday. On the 50 pence coin is the number 70, with in the zero the official emblem of the Queen. The 95-year-old princess would have approved the design.

Elizabeth’s platinum anniversary will be celebrated early June next year with an extra holiday and a multi-day program including a special parade. Preparations are already under way.

The Queen seems to make up for it in the photos that were shared on social media Wednesday. She suddenly ended up in the hospital last month for examination. Shortly before, a visit of the Queen to Northern Ireland had been cancelled. It was the Queen’s first Hospital night in years.

Doctors advised the Queen to take it easy for a few weeks, which meant she missed the Glasgow climate summit. She then went back to work quietly with some digital audiences.
