British supermarkets are still seeing strong sales increase

Kantar research shows that British supermarkets are still seeing more sales growth, even now that the lockdown measures are being reversed. Over the 12-week to 14 June period, sales of the total UK supermarket sector increased by 13.7 percent. Most sales growth was seen at the Co-operative, with an increase of 34.5 percent.

The reason for this was Co-op’s extensive network of convenience stores. Online sales were particularly strong at Ocado, with a growth of 42.2 percent.
