Aldi acquires Morrisons’ place as the UK’s fourth supermarket

Budget supermarket Aldi is on track to become the UK’s Next Big Four supermarket, thanks to a surge in popularity during the cost-of-living crisis, which will see Morrisons bumped from the coveted spot. As inflation and food prices continue to rise, customers have switched to cheaper supermarkets in an effort to keep costs down when doing their weekly shopping.

The latest quarterly figures from Kantar show that the market share of the German supermarket has increased significantly over the past year and that they have almost knocked Morrisons out of the “Top four supermarkets”.
